Frequently Asked Questions...
If you have any further questions then please contact us.
How much does it cost?
We ask for a donation of £1.50. Please do not let this put you off coming though. This is only a suggestion, you are welcome to give more, less, or nothing at all.
Do the refreshments cost extra?
Refreshments are paid for out of the donations on the door. You do not need to pay for any drinks or snacks.
Where do our donations go?
They go towards the refreshments, craft, new toys and many other things needed to run the playgroup. Any excess funds will go towards our end of term parties and occasionally to a charity we support.
Are there baby changing facilities?
There are changing facilities in the female and male toilets in the foyer next to the main hall. We also have potties in both toilets.
When do the toys get cleaned?
Once a term, the committee and volunteers get together and clean all the toys. Please let us know if anything needs it earlier or if anything is broken.
Is there an outside play area?
Yes, we have a lovely big outdoor area with lots of ride on toys (when the weather is dry). There is a gate leading to the car park which is locked at all times. We also have a garden for use during the summer months.
Does someone "guard" the front door?
Yes. The church provide volunteers to help welcome families at the door. They're there to answer any questions and for the general safety of the children.
Is there somewhere I can feed or pump?
You are welcome to pump, breast or bottle feed your child anywhere at ABC. If you would like a more private space to feed or use a breast pump then you are welcome to use one of our other rooms. Please ask one of the committee and they will show you.
Is anyone allowed to come?
Yes! Providing you have a pre-school aged child with you, of course!
Can I arrive/leave at any point?
Yes, you can arrive and leave at any point while we're open. We open the doors at 9:30 (you may be asked to help set up if you arrive earlier) and we close at 11:30.
Do I need to stay with my child?
Yes. You are responsible for your childs safety and wellbeing at all times during ABC.
Do I need to come every week?
Not at all! Feel free to come as little or as often as you want. Just drop in and see us!
Is there a car park?
Yes, we have a car park at the front and back of the church. Sometimes these can get a little full so we often end up blocking each other in. There is also 2 hour parking in the road next to the church and a number of close by pay and display carparks.
Can I volunteer to help?
Of course! There are many jobs that need to be done each week. Please make yourself known to one of the committee members and we will find a job for you. You don't need to have children (in fact it's easier if you don't have them with you) in order to volunteer!
Can I get there via public transport?
Yes. We are 5 minute walk from the London Road train station and a 15 minute walk from the main bus station in Guildford town centre.
